Unlike data transfers over IP, streaming video quality is measured at the Ethernet interface between DSL modem and STB. Quality end-point video is not solely a function of network bandwidth nor is it solely a function of MPEG-2. In fact many of the issues that surround quality end-point video are a combination of both the MPEG-2 quality and the IP packet delivery of the network. The various types of MPEG-2 streams being transported, are affected by the minimum and maximum boundary characteristics of the utilized network. The QoS experienced at the end point is the sum of all factors affecting the video streams sent through the network. ITVAnalyzer will partner with you and assist you throughout optimizing and troubleshooting the IPTV environment.
