Description
Ascentac FiberTrace FCM4300 Series comprises a standard 2U chassis, WavelengthAscentac FiberTrace FCM4300 Series comprises a standard 2U chassis, WavelengthDivision Multiplexer (WDM) modules, and Low Pass Filter (LPF) modules. Thesecomponents are designed as part of the Remote Test Unit (RTU) for the OCAMSRemote Fiber Test System (RFTS).
The Wavelength Division Multiplexer (WDM) is a passive optical module thatsimultaneously couples or separates the Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR)monitoring signal wavelength and the transmission signal wavelength (or that of anexternal light source) onto or from the fiber route under test. WDM modules can beinstalled at the headend or repeater site and support hot-swappable installationand removal without powering down the equipment.
The Low Pass Filter (LPF) module is installed at the end site to filter out thewavelength of the OTDR monitoring signal, thereby preventing interferencewith system transmission quality. The Filter module also supports hot-swappableinstallation and removal without powering down the equipment.
